Market Notes - February 10, 2010

U.S. stock futures fluctuated amid talk of a potential rescue plan for Greece’s debt problems. The early indication leaned towards a higher start, but futures erased most of the earlier gain as a German official said no decision has been made yet.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke was due to appear before the House Financial Services Committee hearing on the unwinding of Fed liquidity programs, but was delayed due to the snowstorm on the East Coast. The weather also wiped out the release of the EIA’s weekly crude oil inventory supplies. Those numbers will now be released at 11:00 am on Friday. Other reports showed that mortgage applications dipped last week and the trade gap widened on a sharp gain in imports.
