Market Notes - Octobber 8, 2010

The U.S. economy shed jobs in September for a fourth straight month. The Labor Department said nonfarm payrolls dropped 95,000. Private employment, a better gauge of labor market health, increased 64,000 after rising a revised 93,000 in August. Meanwhile, the unemployment remained unchanged at 9.6%. Stock market futures dropped initially on the news, but have since recovered.
