Market Notes - July 6, 2009

U.S. stock futures indicate a lower start for the week following the long weekend. The effects of the disappointing employment report from last Thursday have carried over to the international markets and to the domestic futures market.

There is not a lot for the market to focus on this week, but today will be the release of the ISM non-manufacturing report. A report on consumer credit is scheduled for release Wednesday, the weekly jobless claim number will be posted Thursday, and the Trade Balance is due Friday. Also this week, Alcoa kicks off the second-quarter earnings season by releasing results on Wednesday.
