Market Notes - January 22, 2010

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a lower start, as concerns lingered over the Obama administration’s threats of new regulation for large financial firms.

With no economic reports on the calendar today, the proposed regulations and earnings will be the focus on Wall Street once again. McDonald’s and GE both topped estimates. Others reporting today include Kimberly-Clark, Harley Davidson, Schlumberger, and Suntrust Banks.
