Stocks appear set to start the holiday shortened week higher, following overseas markets and commodity prices. The U.S. stock market will be closed on Thanksgiving and closes early at 1:00 pm E.T. Friday.
There is only one economic release of note schedule for today. The National Association of Realtors reports existing home sales for October at 10:00 am ET, with economists expecting an increase. Tomorrow, the Commerce Department is expected to post a downward revision to the third-quarter GDP. Several housing statistics will be out, along with two consumer confidence surveys and the Fed will release the minutes from its November meeting. On Wednesday, reports are due on durable goods, personal income and spending, new home sales for October, jobless claims, and consumer sentiment. All markets are closed Thursday and there are no major announcements on Friday.
