Stock index futures were pointing to a lower start on a light news day.
There are no economic reports scheduled for today and only a couple of earnings announcements. Dell is the notable one, whose shares fell after reporting earning that were short of estimates. However, retailer Gap said quarterly profits jumped 25% in the quarter.
