It is another big day for corporate results. Among the more widely held names that reported, Yahoo! topped expectations, but issued a weak forecast. United Technologies and Boeing both posted upside earnings surprises and improved their outlooks. Morgan Stanley missed estimates, but US Bancorp and Wells Fargo both posted better than expected earnings. There are over a hundred others reporting today.
Today will be another light day for economic news. The Fed’s Beige Book is the only item on the calendar. It is scheduled for release at 2:00 pm ET.
