U.S. stock index pointed to a slightly lower open, as housing data begins to take center stage.
The National Association of Realtors reports on existing home sales at 10:00 am ET. Economists expect a fairly sharp decline from the previous month. That is the only significant economic release scheduled for today, but more housing data is in store tomorrow with reports on home prices, mortgage applications, and new home sales.
