Stock futures rose Thursday following further signs that Europe’s economy is bouncing back faster than expected. Earnings continue to come in strong and will likely be in the spotlight again today.
New claims for unemployment benefits fell slightly more than expected last week. Initial claims fell by 11,000 to 457,000, while the four-week moving average fell by 4,500 to 452,500. Continuing claims were up by 81,000 to 4.565 million. There are no other major economic reports scheduled today.
