Market Notes - May 12, 2009
Stocks pulled back yesterday, but are poised for a mild rebound at today’s start. The only economic data today is the trade balance. The government report showed the U.S. trade deficit widened to $27.6 billion, from a revised $26.1 billion in February, the March number, however, was narrower than the $29.0 billion consensus estimate. The March trade balance report serves as another reminder that global trade continues to contract as countries around the globe grapple with the effects of the financial crisis.
