U.S. stock futures rose modestly, pointing to a higher start. There is no economic data scheduled for release today, but merger and acquisition activity continue to support markets.
Economic reports later this week will be closely watched, starting Tuesday with the existing home sales report. We will see more housing data on Wednesday with reports on mortgage applications, new home sales, and housing prices. On the same day, we will also get manufacturing data with a report on durable goods orders. Weekly jobless claims will be in the spotlight Thursday, and we will end the week with a revised GDP reading and a report on consumer sentiment.
