U.S. stocks were poised for a flat open ahead of the release of the Federal Reserve Policy statement. U.S. central banker end a two-day meeting today and their statement is due at 2:15 pm ET. While it is widely expected they will keep rates near zero, investors are anxious to hear the Fed’s latest take on the economy, as well as learn about any new strategies to exit the extraordinary measures taken to deal with the financial crisis.
Before the Fed statement is released, a report on the trade balance comes out and the Treasury budget is also scheduled today.
